Static Flow Control in Store-and-Forward Computer Networks

چکیده
In this paper we develop an analytic model for end-to-end communication protocols and study the window mechanism for flow control in store-and-forward (in particular message-switching) computerbased communication networks. We develop a static flow control model in which the parameters of the system are not dynamically adjusted to the Paper approved by the Editor for Computer Communication of the IEEE Communications Society for publication without oral presentation. Kleinrock is with the Department of Computer Science, Universtochastic fluctuation of the system load. Numerical results are presented and it is shown that the throughput-delay performance of a network can be improved by proper selection of the design parmeters, such as the window size, the timeout period, etc.

Simulation of Store Separation using Low-cost CFD with Dynamic Meshing
The simulation of the store separation using the automatic coupling of dynamic equations with flow aerodynamics is addressed. The precision and cost (calculation time) were considered as comparators. The method used in the present research decreased the calculation cost while limiting the solution error within a specific and tolerable interval. The methods applied to model the aerodynamic force...

Mobile ad hoc network congestion control is a significant problem. Standard mechanism for congestion control (TCP), the ability to run certain features of a wireless network, several mutations are not common. In particular, the enormous changes in the network topology and the joint nature of the wireless network. It also creates significant challenges in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), density ...
متن کاملReliable Flow Control Coding in Low-Buffer Grid Networks
We consider a grid network where nodes contain small buffers. A packet that faces a crowded buffer in its route will get extra latency and may be dropped. In this paper, we propose a novel flow control protocol called RFCC for grid networks. RFCC tries to reroute delayed packets and utilizes network coding to introduce a configurable amount of redundant information in the network, thereby incre...
متن کاملEnergy packet networks: smart electricity storage to meet surges in demand
When renewable energy is used either as a primary source, or as a back-up source to meet excess demand, energy storage becomes very useful. Simple examples of energy storage units include electric car batteries and uninterruptible power supplies. More sophisticated examples include dams into which water may be pumped when renewable sources of electricity such as wind or photovoltaic are plentif...
متن کاملNetwork Coding and Quality of Service for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
Network Coding is a relatively new forwarding paradigm where intermediate nodes perform a store, code, and forward operation on incoming packets. Traditional forwarding approaches, which employed a store and forward operation, have not been able to approach the limit of the max-flow min-cut throughput wherein sources transmitting information over bottleneck links have to compete for access to t...
